Punggol Point Cove is within the Punggol Point district envisioned to be a ‘Green Heritage’ district that embraces nature and pays tribute to Punggol’s heritage as a fishing village. The nearest shopping location to Punggol Point Cove & Punggol Point Crown is the Waterway Point, which is a four-storey retail and lifestyle hub located South of the two estates, in the heart of Punggol, beside Punggol MRT/LRT station. It is the retail component of Watertown, Singapore’s first integrated waterfront residential and retail development, with a town square and a visitors’ centre which provides an avenue for residents and the public to learn more about the heritage of Punggol through exhibitions and civic and community events.
Waterway Point offers a diverse range of retail, dining, entertainment and education. Waterway Point is the flagship waterfront leisure destination for Punggol’s residents and visitors from across the island. It has a total of 542,493 square feet (50,399.2 m2) of gross floor area and has 370,824 square feet (34,450.7 m2) of retail space spread over 4 levels inclusive of 2 basements, with a tenant mix of approximately 30% F&B, 43% retail, 15% entertainment, 12% others (education institutions, banks, civic & community amenities such as a library).
The layout of the mall is different from many traditional mall layouts, it is separated into an East Wing and West Wing which are connected by a 24-hour walkway, The Boardwalk, linking Punggol Waterway Park with the mall and Punggol MRT/LRT Station.
It also features an indoor and outdoor themed spaces located throughout the mall for exhibitions, civic events and recreational activities like Shaw Cineplex, the largest suburban basement cinema in Singapore.
The mall has various educational learning centres, bookstores and play space for children, including a dry and wet playground on the second floor. It also has a 24-hour supermarket, telecommunication shops, as well as salons and banks.
A few roads down to the East is the Oasis Terraces Neighbourhood Centre Shopping Mall, part of an integrated development of the Oasis Terraces residential estate. It has five storeys of retail stores and the polyclinic occupying four levels.
Fronting the Punggol Waterway, Oasis Terraces features a sheltered community plaza, for community events and recreational activities for residents living within the vicinity. A dedicated pedestrian walkway through the development allows direct access to the Punggol Waterway, while covered walkways will connect the development to the Oasis LRT station and neighbouring blocks.
Oasis Terraces is designed with sustainability and green building as its key influence and is connected through green ramps and terraces. The runoff from these ramps and terraces are treated through the bio-retention system designed to integrate into the landscape. The treated sewage from the building then will be harvested for use in auto irrigation of the trees and plants located on the green ramps and terraces. Other green features include rainwater harvesting, sensor-activated fans and solar-ready roofs.
Some notable retail stores in Oasis Terraces includes NTUC FairPrice Supermarket, Guardian, Starbucks, Crystal Jade Dim Sum, Popular Bookstore and Super Genius Preschool.
A couple kilometers South is Punggol Plaza, a shopping mall located in Punggol, Singapore, near Coral Edge LRT Station. The mall is the oldest and one of the first to be built in Punggol to cater to the needs of the pioneer generation residents.
With a total of 4 floors and two basements, each level provides different services ranging from hair saloons, tuition centres, banks to food. There are currently three anchor tenants in the mall. The three anchor tenants include the Fresh Market located at Basement 1, Koufu located on level 1 and NTUC FairPrice, which occupies most of the space on level 3.
The mall also has a 2-storey basement carpark. The carpark at B1 is accessible by both the lifts and escalators in the mall, while shoppers will have to take the lift to get to the B2 carpark. Shalom Car Grooming, a car grooming service, is located at the B2 carpark. There are also clinics offering general practitioner and specialist medical services located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the mall. There is currently one bank serving the mall, namely POSB Bank. POSB Bank is located on the third floor. Most of the tuition centres are located on the fourth floor, including music schools such as Cristofori Music. Majority of the hair salons are also located on the fourth floor.
